Race Rules

Racing

Helmets are required for all racers. Lapped racers are required to yield to leaders provided that lead riders are vocal when overtaking other riders. A racer may not bodily interfere or otherwise intentionally impede another racer’s progress. Unsportsmanlike behavior and/or use of profane or abusive language will not be tolerated. Short cutting of a race course is not allowed. At the sole discretion of the Race Director, racers may be issued a warning or disqualified for a violation of any of the above rules.

Points Rules

All racers (including youth) will score points in each race as follows:

  • 1st .......................... 30 points
  • 2nd ......................... 27 points
  • 3rd .......................... 25 points
  • 4th .......................... 23 points
  • 5th .......................... 21 points
  • 6th .......................... 20 points
  • 7th .......................... 19 points
  • 8th .......................... 18 points
  • 9th .......................... 17 points
  • 10th ........................ 16 points
  • 11th ........................ 15 points
  • 12th ........................ 14 points
  • 13th ........................ 13 points
  • 14th ........................ 12 points
  • 15th ........................ 11 points
  • 16th ........................ 10 points
  • 17th ........................ 9 points
  • 18th ........................ 8 points
  • 19th ........................ 7 points
  • 20th ........................ 6 points
  • 21st ........................ 5 points
  • 22nd ....................... 4 points
  • 23rd ........................ 3 points
  • 24th ........................ 2 points
  • 25th ........................ 1 point

All racers must race in 4 races to be eligible for overall standings. Only 6 of the 7 races will count for a racers season total. In the event a race is canceled, one race time will still be thrown out. The lowest scoring race will be dropped from cumulative season total. If a racer changes skill divisions during the season they will not carry any existing points with them for cumulative season total.

Equipment
All bikes must have working front and rear brakes. No cross or road bikes. No drop handle bars. Helmets are required for all racers. No training wheels. No striders, bikes must have peddles & brakes.
Race Divisions
Any racer who wins their overall age/skill division may be required to move up in skill level the following season. Racers are solely responsible for knowing which race division they are entered in and the start time for their specific race division. Racing age for all racers will be the racer’s age  as of December 31, 2013. Race organizers reserve the right to combine age divisions in instances where there are less than four season pass holders registered for a specific division.
Registration

All Prices will be posted in April 2014.

Cancellation Policy

In cases of adverse weather, adverse trail conditions, or unforeseen circumstances the race organizers reserve the right to any of the following actions:

  • delay start for a period of time
  • shorten race prior to or during race
  • reschedule race
  • move the start or finish of a course
  • cancel the race
Protests
Protests regarding race results will be accepted by Race Director until the end of the next business day following a race. Race results will be final 24 hours after the completion of the race.
Refunds
If a race is cancelled due to weather, all registered racers will receive household credit and we will attempt to reschedule the race. Request for season pass refunds will be dealt with individually and will include a $5 cancellation fee.
